Byram Lake Committee
The primary function of the Byram Lake Committee is to assist, consult, and make recommendations to the Village regarding the administration, maintenance, operation and supervision of Byram Lake and its associated properties. Further the Committee and its members are to work with the Village to ensure that Byram Lake and all associated properties are utilized exclusively in the public interest for the purposes of a water supply, or for conservation, or for park purposes.
The Committee is composed of two classes of members: Village Members and Public Members. The number of Village Members shall not be less than three nor more than five as determined from time to tie by the Board of Trustees of the Village. The number of Public Members shall be two. The Mayor of the Village shall be ex officio a Village Member of the committee. Any vacancy in the office of a Village Member, other than that filled ex officio by the Mayor, shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor of the Village. Any vacancy in the office of Public Member shall be filled by appointment by the person last holding the vacant office (which appointment shall be made in writing, signed by such person, and delivered to the appointee and to the Mayor of the Village, or by the last will of such person, if he or she shall have died), or, in default of such an appointment, by the then incumbent Public Member, or in default of such an appointment, by the Board of Trustees of the Village. The term of office of the Village members shall be not less than two nor more than five years, as determined from time to time by the Board of Trustees of the Village. The term of office of the Public Members shall be for life. Any member may resign in writing signed by that person and delivered to the Mayor of the Village and to the other members of the Committee.
